Small Carrier Success

08.07.2007

Using the resources available to your company is of the utmost importance, especially if you a small business owner. Sure, you’re used to checking tires, fueling tractors and even getting down and dirty on a transmission rebuild. Your time is a precious commodity, which should make job designations all that much more important to a small business like yours.

Take sales for example. Are you maximizing your people’s talents? Are you using your drivers as your first line of sales defense? If not, you should be. You see, if your drivers and O/O’s are given specific instructions, along with a how to guide, you will then possess a potentially powerful sales force. Appearance and knowing how to deal with various questions can make a positive impression on your customers. Driver appearance can rank right up there with on time delivery. Educate, instruct, and more importantly, have a plan which includes working closely with your employees.

Remember, your success is very much dependent on the success and performance of each and every individual that works under your company banner.
